January 7, 2008
Petition for Deviation Deadline. Any graduate student who wishes to petition for deviation from Graduate Catalog regulations must submit a petition form to the Graduate Office by Monday, January 7, 2008 for review during this semester. Decisions on petitions may come late in the semester, and it is recommended that candidates petition at least one semester before expecting to graduate.

Formatting Workshop RSVP Deadline. Any graduate student who wishes to attend the thesis/dissertation formatting workshop being held on February 8, 2008, must send an RSVP to aamari@gsu.edu no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 18, 2008. This workshop is offered for graduate students completing a thesis or dissertation and will answer questions regarding the formatting and submission of the electronic document required for graduation clearance.

Change of Name and change from Non-Attended to Attend. Any student who is unable to complete his or her degree requirements must change the date of graduation by Monday, March 3, 2008. Students seeking to change graduation date may do so by contacting Graduation Services at (404) 413-2600, or at http://www.gsu.edu/es/graduation.html.

Thesis/Dissertation Review Deadline. All candidates for graduation writing a thesis or dissertation MUST have their manuscripts reviewed for format correctness by this date. Except for candidates in a studio art discipline, review copies must be electronic and must conform to the templates found in the Guidelines on this Web site. Send copies in word processor format to the Graduate Office at dasgam@langate.gsu.edu.

Doctoral Candidate Commencement Program Information Deadline. All doctoral candidates must provide the Office of the Registrar, Graduation Services, with complete information for the commencement program as soon as possible in order to ensure that the correct information is printed. Contact Mr. Christopher Robertson at (404) 413-2248. Information received after this date is NOT guaranteed to appear in the Commencement Program.

Degree Requirement Completion Deadline. All degree candidates who are required to complete a thesis or dissertation must have the final .pdf version corrected and uploaded by this date. Notification from the department regarding the completion of all degree requirements will be given to the Graduate Office by the department no later than April 21, 2008. Non-thesis candidates must have their papers turned-in and evaluated before this date. Students should contact their departmental graduate directors for earlier departmental deadlines for the defense and review of the thesis or dissertation to allow for completion by this deadline. Any exceptions require approval of the department chair as well as the graduate director.

Manuscripts Binding Deadline. All candidates who are submitting theses/dissertations for binding must turn hard copies of their manuscripts to the Graduate Office by Monday, May 5, 2008.
