Future Foreign Language Teachers
Dr. Peter Swanson, Assistant Professor of Foreign Language Education has devoted much of his time towards the recruitment and retention of Foreign Language Teachers. He recognizes the national need for teachers of foreign languages and is working at the local, state and regional levels to boost the numbers of qualified teachers.
In the past two months Dr. Swanson has spoken to over a dozen groups of Middle and High School students who are members of FEA, Future Educators Association. He talks with them about the advantages of being a teacher as well as effective strategies for classroom management.
